ABOUT
I am an abstract artist based in Calne, Wiltshire. I have always loved art, but life seemed to get in the way of really expressing myself on the canvas over the years. I started painting again in 2019 as a hobby to help me manage the demands of being a support worker. That job can really be unhealthy to ones mental wellbeing.
It all re-started in the kitchen where I soon over-ran the work space on the dining table! I now have a log cabin studio where I can indulge my passion for creating my work and not have to worry about the mess!!
I have always loved tapping into my creative side. From first taking art and design at school, I continued to nurture my creative expression in my day to day life, exploring with my own children as well as those I cared for as a childminder, especially around the seasonal holidays.
I love to share my passion for art with everyone. How it makes me feel and how I create my work. Music plays a huge part in my work, the physical side of creating. Come along to my workshops to join in!! I also offer commissioning, exhibitions, charity fundraisers and the sale of all my work.
I loved expressing myself through the interior design of my own home - friends always thought I was somewhat different when it came to home design! I achieved City and Guilds qualification and then worked as a painter and decorator for a time, before a back injury meant it was time for a change.
From there I became a support worker where I continued creating with young people and adults with learning difficulties. I found that art was always a great place to start and open communication during times they struggled to express themselves.
I take my inspiration from the industrial landscape and the beautiful countryside of Wiltshire.
